Changes to the School Nutrition Program for School Year 2023 - 2024

Congress did not extend federal school meal waivers and school meals will no longer be available to ALL students free of charge effective at the start of the 2023-2024 school year.  However, this year all students will receive free breakfast and reduced students will receive free lunch at USD 457.  Households may complete an Application for Free or Reduced Price School Meals during the 2023-2024 enrollment process or at https://frapps.horizonsolana.com/GARC01. If you have already received notification that your family is eligible for free or reduced price meals for the 2023-2024 school year, follow the instructions provided.  Only students with approved applications will receive free or reduced price meals for the 2023-2024 school year.  Families who do not qualify for free meals will be responsible for paying for their child(ren)'s meals at the paid rate.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
